For over 40 years, the Orange County charity Human Options has been supporting local families affected by domestic violence through emergency shelter, counseling, and legal advocacy. One of their vital initiatives is the Second Step program—a transitional housing setup that gives survivors and their children a safe haven while they rebuild their lives.

That’s where Make It Your Home stepped in. We had the honor of volunteering our interior design skills to completely furnish and decorate one of their two-bedroom apartments. We wanted to ensure that when a family walks through the door, they don’t just see an apartment—they see a warm, welcoming space with a comfortable living room, a dining area to share meals, and a dedicated workspace.

Escaping domestic abuse is just the first step. Rebuilding a life takes many more. We are incredibly grateful to partner with Human Options to spread domestic violence awareness and make this next chapter possible for a deserving family.
