She Escaped Domestic Violence With Her Little Boy—Then We Did This

A new home. A fresh start. A place to finally feel safe. This home was furnished for a courageous mom and her little boy who escaped domestic violence and received support through Laura’s House. After everything they had been through, they were beginning again in a new apartment with very little to make it feel like home.

Our team at Make It Your Home transformed their space into a warm, functional, fully furnished home created especially for them. Her little boy absolutely loves Star Wars, so we gave him an awesome Star Wars room filled with special details just for him — a fun bed, themed bedding and artwork, books, toys, and a space where he could play, imagine, and simply be a kid. We also created a peaceful, welcoming home for mom, with a warm pallet, comfortable furniture, a beautiful dining area, thoughtful artwork, and all the details that turn an apartment into a place that truly feels like home. From beds and furniture to artwork, bedding, toys, storage, and the thoughtful details in between, our goal was to give this family more than furniture.

We wanted to give them comfort, dignity, stability, and a place where they could begin creating happy new memories together.
